V3 power saver from Handyman |
In search for the answer or maybe a
desperate move to lower our electric bill at home, I decided to stash my
budget to buy this extreme power saver V3 of Handyman that promise to lower my
bill up to 35% of its total amount. Yes I know, you will probably one of many
that doesn’t believe in this thing because many use this kind as a gimmick to
scam others or you will probably said to me in plain English that I am just
stupid to believe that it actually works.
The reason that encourage me to buy this thing is because I have read it from Yugatech and Azrael's blog and it kinda effective in their home, though in numerous forum they had a divided opinion about it: one said yes it is effective and the other said it's just a bogus so don't buy it. When I came to Handyman store there was a customer already there inquiring if he could get another one for their home, the salesperson at Handyman declined it because their bill was already cut down explaining there's no more room to lower the bill and it will just a waste for that client. The client even make a conversation with me and assured 100% it will lower my bill too, so I bought it.
But before this I have my own experiment at home I try every possible way to reduce the use of our electricity; I stop using our air conditioner, I unplug every appliances and even our refrigerator only works half day but it didn't help anyway and I am desperate, I also called the attention of our electric company provider to check if there is someone hacking my current.
Here is my current bill:
My bill is in the bracket of Php
1000 to Php 1300 every month and I am actually furious because we are only 2
that live in the house and we are not always at home: my son is always at school
and I am always out at work. And the reading is now in cut off and the device will be
reflected on September’s bill, I will definitely update this blog and tell if my bill
get lowered or not.
By the way V3 power saver max cost
Php 1999 and has 3 months of warranty, the salesperson in Handyman assures me
that I can bring back the product if it doesn’t lower my bill, she also added
that I wouldn’t return the product anyway because many of her customer didn’t
return it also.
See you next update.
UPDATE:
Here is my latest bill prior from my bill last month you see at the above image. According to my latest bill my electric bill decreased by Php 161.52, but wait before this I found out that there's a discrepancy on my line so I will still need to wait another month for the accuracy of V3 Power saver. See you again for my next bill....

How does this work? Is this a voltage regulator?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to lower our bill too.As of August our bill was 1520 -no ac but with electric water pump included. we're only 3 here. i'm trying all my resources to cut down on water usage and try to use led light as overnight light deterrent outside.
As for the refrigerator, I think it's not good to unplug it half the day because it will just double the time it needs to cool itself up. Remember, the more time the condenser works, the more electricity it consumes.Whereas if the fridge had achieved its cooling temp, rested na ang condenser same way as the aircon works.
very true right now nagreklamo na naman ako sa NEECO ayun mali pala naman yung binabayaran ko sa kapitbahay at hindi sa akin
Deleteaccording to sales rep it balances the use of wattage, can't explain it right but it summarize to minimize the loses of wattage consumption that reflects on the bill
DeleteI just bought one yesterday and keep monitoring the meter reading.I hope It will work as explained by the saleslady.
ReplyDeleteplease kindly update me also
Deletethis is not effective! if you really to reduce ur power consumption start investing on solar panels. yun talaga effective!!!
ReplyDeletekung mura lang pre ang solar panel bakit hindi. this is just another way to imprve the bill without spending too much. dahil d lahat kaya mag solar panels.

It will only work for appliances which are inductive. Examples are ref, aircon, water pump and other motorized appliances. If you don't have these things don't buy the power saver coz you'll never see remarkable results.
ReplyDeletewell handyman use energy saving light bulb
DeleteRemember to plug the power saver away form other devices or appliances. a dedicated power outlet should be used only for the power saver.
ReplyDeleteor power saver alone in a plug
Delete^^^ sir..
ReplyDeleteso is this effective.
we 2 refs and 3 aircons... been reading about this thing and getting too much garbage info specially from "GENIUS PEOPLE" talking too much about the science that we laymen don't understand.
i'm not looking for a miracle, but a 20% reduction long term is acceptable
sir you can actually take your money back after 3 months of purchasing and testing, my bill now is 566 with 1 week no power due to Santi
Deleteany updates? been reading and some testimonies are too good to be true. some not effective and some just post to look knowledgeable without having tested the unit.
ReplyDeletehi my bill this month is 566 maybe because of Santi storm with 1 week no power
DeleteI suggest that you wait until the dry season (hot weather) before you conclude on whether the gadget is really effective. Now is the time of the year when our electricity consumption goes down so comparing the previous month's bills with what you will have now until the dry season sets in sometime in March 2014 would be more conclusive.
ReplyDeleteI bought one also, but upon observing it by using a clamp meter to monitior the current, V3 makes additional load, meaning additional consumption. The reading at home using clamp meter or tester is contrary to the testing showed by handyman. any comment
ReplyDeletechnages in bills is not enough dahil nagbabago ang paggamit, da best is using a tester before the meter. when I used tester, tumaas ang current pag nakaplug ang V3, meaning dagdag load ang V3. contrary sa demo nila na bumababa ang current.
ReplyDeletewell you can try it for 3 months and return it in full payment
DeleteI bought one from the Handyman and it showed me the demo and it really work... now I'm testing it at home...
ReplyDeletewith a whooping promise of 1 year warranty...it did brought to my attention to buy one.... I hope my next bill would cut in half!!!
This is funny!!!
ReplyDeleteI bought one from Handyman because i amaze when the sales rep demo it to me. Last month my electric bill is 1,950pesos but now 2,640pesos... I am now thinking this is a scam...

ReplyDeleteMas effective daw yung scalar sticker. :)
ReplyDeleteit is really a fake! don't buy the product (V3 power saver). the component is only a "CAPACITOR" use in electric fan. it has no ability to reduce power consumption. its a Fake ! meralco meter should be use in demo. but because it is fake they will not use it
ReplyDeleteI was extremely pleased to find this website. I wanted to thank you for this good knowledge and I definitely enjoying every single small bit of it and I am looking forward to check out new stuff you post.thanks for sharing this site.
ReplyDeleteI just bought this product too. Will update to this blog after or before end month of May, with comparison of bill.
ReplyDeleteI'm programmer/developer/design so I use 2 computer with 6 monitor, this computer is open 24/7. Plus I have ref + 3 laptop, Let's just say I'm leaving in techworld (power consumption devices).
I just bought one too april 21st and so excited. but after checking this site, I am so disapointed. oh I just wish that what they are saying is true. otherwise, I will be returning this poduct outside the the mall and I'm going to make sure that someone is going to chew it. well whoever that will be, it aint gonna be me. last money ko na ang 1,900, but I had faith. if this will just going to go to nothing, then someone has to pay. but on the contrary, I still hope, that it is going to be effective
ReplyDeleteI bought one 1 week ago. Nakakalungkot lang ung mga negative comments saying its a fake/scam (not effective) . Anyway I am still hoping for this device to work. Our regular monthly bill is between 11-15k.
ReplyDeleteIt's fake, I bought mine 2weeks ago, daily I'm monitoring my usage per kilowatt, day 1 with v3 my usage is 14 kilowatt using aircon, ref, wife modem, 2electric fan, TV etc, day 2 I removed v3 for comparison, and presto! My usage is still 14 kilowatt. I repeat the experiment for 2weeks ang nothing change. Monthly comparison is not accurate, check Ur kilowatt usage daily. And see for Urself. I'm so disappointed with this product. Hope that I can return it to handyman.. Or replace with other products... Sana di nagcacarry ang handyman ng scam items.. Very disappointing..
ReplyDeletein layman's term...
ReplyDeletehttp://electrical-engineering-portal.com/the-real-truth-behind-household-power-savers
power saver reduces the KVA of your motor appliances at home(ref, aircon, water pumps, other motor apps) BUT!!!
Take Note: We are NOT Charged by KVA, We are Charged by KWH so even if the Power Saver Reduces our KVA by half. It will Not Reduce our KWH so if KWH is not reduced... Basically! and Everyone here Knows that when KWH is not reduced Our Electric Bill will Not Reduce Too. Am I Right?
The Only Way to Reduce Our Electricity Bills at Home is to Reduce the Power COnsumption of Our appliances. For Example:
Example Only: Aircon consumes 100 W the only way to reduce the power consumption meaning to reduce our electricity bill is to reduce the Power Wattage of Aircon from 100 W. And there will be No Other way for the Aircon to work properly if it Does Not Consume 100 W of pwer anymore Right. That is Why it was Made That Way, It was Made to Consume 100 W. Right? How will you Reduce your electricity bill if you Cannot Reduce the 100 W of an aircon and i bleieve it not possible to reduce it below 100 W because that is the Power Consumption of the Aircon And it will not Work if it does not work for 100 W
Bumili din ako last may 2014...ngayong bill ko 5700+...sana bumaba next month or until the 3rd month...kung hnd babalik ko sa ace ito
ReplyDeleteTo All who wish to save their electric bills, an advice to you. All type or kind of POWER SAVER are just a SCAM it is FAKE. Learn basic Electronics/Electrical you will know the meaning of Power Factor. There is no way that you can reduce your electric bill unless you tapped/jumper your power meter, or otherwise unplug unnecessary appliances that are not in use. http://pakitong.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWe decided to buy this power saving device last May 2014 bcoz our electric bill increase from 742 to 1,835 bcoz we started to used aircon, we bought this gadget knowing it will gonna help our bill to decrease but after a month of using it, actually I'm so excited to see our bill this month, but when I handed and read our bill I was so dissapointed our bill increase from 1835 to 1986 to think that we only used aircon at night for two hours, so I phoned meralco to ask if using this power saver helpful he said if our bill increased then stop using it, but I'm still going to have one more try, if there's no difference I will not use it anymore,
ReplyDeleteWe bought 2 sa Rob Malolos. Unfortunately it didn't worked for us. 5700 ang bill namin previously, then naging 5800.
ReplyDeletekamusta mga bill?
ReplyDeleteKakabili ko lng kanina v3, sana bumaba nga tlga at hindi eto scam, one yr warranty daw at after two months pwede ibalik sa kanila at papalitan daw nila ng ibang item pag hindi effective...
ReplyDeleteUpdate po sa mga nakabili?salamat po..
ReplyDeleteNo stock available in all Ace Hardware stores. The salesman attending the booth said a client bought all the stock available. So i thought maybe i'll try in other outlets still no is stock. Hmmm... is someone buying all the available stock because its bad for their business? I wonder.
ReplyDeleteAny update guys ??
ReplyDeleteIt will not lower the energy consumptions of your appliances. It reduces the losses of the wires. The realization was very low and the return of investment is very long. For residential consumers, it was not effective. Inside the power saver was just a capacitor that can be found in electric fan and cost around 50 pesos.
ReplyDeleteTo verify its effectiveness, you have to measure the power (kW) and not the current(ampere) and energy (kWh) of your home without the power saver and record the data, then plug the device using the same set of appliances or loads and record the data. The kW result, would almost the same. The power saver itself consumes around 2 watts.
But if you still believe that the power saver really works and will bring down your electricity bills, then, buy the gadget. Just wonder why the store you bought doesn't used this gadget to lower their energy consumption.
bili ka na lang micswell 8-1 coffe
ReplyDeletePag hindi ba umiilaw defective?
ReplyDeletenot necessarily, bring the unit to handyman to test if it is still working, if not use the guarantee to fix it
DeleteWe bought ours last March early this year and I do believe that our electric bill was cut in half. We use 2 power savers at home because according to the sales person, only 350 watts is being supported by one unit. So, if you are using more than that, I suggest you get 2 also. Anyway, so far the unit works for us. I just want to know how to maintain it since it's been plugged in since the time we bought it. We only unplug it if there is a brownout or if no one is home.
