Invest with Your Kid’s Education

kumon-invest-education

I know many parents like me always wanted or finding ways to give a quality education for their children. As for me I enrolled my child to a private school whom I thought the quality of education is very high also with the price. Though this is not always true because sometimes we can get quality education in public school too, but I didn’t risk it because of my past experience like most of the time we spent more time cleaning or gardening plus I hardly get good and quality books back then.

Now that school time is over and vacation is here I am again in the lookout for any summer activities for my son. I don’t want him to spend most of his time in front of computer or TV, good thing I decided to attend the parent orientation at Kumon.

I know that I will spend more cash for Kumon because I just found out that they are not just a short term activity or learning for our children. But I am settled and decided to continue to enroll my son for I am tired of quarreling and shouting whenever we need to study or answer his assignment lol. I also want him to develop discipline and good study habits plus I want him not to depend on me or his tutor teacher every time they had exam in school.

My only worries as of now are his tiredness and laziness in the whole program of Kumon, but I hoped we can surpass it and in the end it’s all worth it for the money and time.
Any experience in Kumon, please share your thoughts?

  1. My son is currently enrolled in the Reading program as well. I availed of the 2-week Free Trial and after seeing how my son liked the program, I went on and enrolled him officially.

My 4-year-old used to have little (zero, even) interest in Reading, which worried me a lot. I felt huge pressure from my Mum and Grandmum who kept on telling me that I learned to read at the tender age of 2 1/2.

And so when they opened the Free Trial program once again, I signed up right away. It's been two months since, and my son is now halfway through Module 6. I've noticed significant improvement in his aptitude and learning lately, and I'm really glad I got him into Kumon.

Yes, it is rather costly but since my son is enjoying and learning from it, I wouldn't mind causing an extra dent in our monthly budget. Kelangan na lang natin dagdagan ang raket natin. ;)

  2. Two of my nephews studied in Kumon every summer. The eldest one started at Kumon when he was 7 years old, and he's about to enter H.S. next school year. AND, he was accepted at Philippine Science High School (proud tita here!) :) His mom (my cousin) attributes it to training in Kumon. My nephew, due to his Kumon training, entered and won different math contests (local and international).

The younger nephew is still in grade school, but he has also joined a lot of math contests, following his kuya's footsteps.

I don't know how much Kumon is, but I guess it's worth your money. Living testament are my cousin's sons. :)

  3. like CJ, i'm more interested in enrolling (if there's any here in our area) my grade3 kid to reading or language development. math and science are both hard subjects. by improving more on her grammar/reading, i believe she will be able to comprehend math problems.
okay naman pala ang fee. i have few friends at essential that enrolled their kids at kumon.
